Whether you are a rider, trainer, groom, horse crazy or simply think horses are magnificent, remember to listen to the horse whispers. Horses are such magical creatures and I’m forever grateful to my parents for letting me start riding at the age of 9. I’m not sure they knew what they were getting themselves into but then again neither did I! Horses have given me some of the most unique, magical, rewarding moments of my life and even today when I treat them as fellow athletes, the healing power they have over me is priceless. I call this healing power “horse whispers”.
Listen to the horse whispers… to learn about yourself. Often they can teach you so much more about you than any human ever could. Listen to that voice they bring out in you.
Listen to them… when they tell you something you know and when they tell you something you don’t know. I find that sometimes with horses I can hear my own voice clearer than ever and they bring new answers out of me to my own questions.
Listen to the horse whispers… when they say they understand how you feel. Sometimes when you’re feeling sad or angry, there’s nothing more soothing than spending time with this honest, non-judgemental 4-legged creature.
Listen to them… when they tell you they know you’ve got carrots. You might as well give it to them then and there, there’s no tricking them from treats!
Listen to the horse whispers… and sit together in silence. When you do this, you can learn a lot more about yourself and your horse than you would if you were talking with your horse.
Listen to them… because you’ll discover the secrets only you and your horse know. And your horse will definitely keep it a secret.
Listen to the horse whispers… to feel the strength and trust between you and your horse. Your horse can teach you to trust and to be strong if you let him.
Listen to them… and let your heart fill with love. Let your heart fill with infinite amounts of unconditional, genuine love.
Listen to the horse whispers… and let the horses make your life whole.
